MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established engineering organisation with a strong presence in specialist environmental and mechanical systems.Qualifications, skills, and all relevant experience needed for this role can be found in the full description below.This role is office-based in Cork and is open to recent mechanical engineering graduates as well as candidates with 1-2 years' industry experience.THE COMPANY: Our client is an international engineering business specialising in the design and delivery of advanced mechanical and environmental solutions across industrial, commercial, and critical infrastructure sectors.Known for their strong engineering culture and long-term investment in people, they provide a supportive environment where engineers can develop their technical skills and progress their careers.THE ROLE: As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, contributing to the design and development of mechanical systems from concept through to detailed design.Key responsibilities include: Producing mechanical designs, layouts, and technical drawings for engineered systems.Supporting product and system development using 3 D CAD software.Assisting with design calculations, documentation, and technical submissions.Working closely with senior engineers and project teams to support ongoing projects.Reviewing specifications and ensuring designs meet relevant standards and client requirements.Providing technical support during manufacturing and project delivery stages where required.This role offers excellent exposure for graduates or early-career engineers looking to build strong fundamentals in mechanical design.THE PERSON: Our client will consider candidates with varying levels of experience, including: A Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.Recent graduates or engineers with 1-2 years' industry experience.Experience or academic exposure to mechanical design and CAD software.Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to engineering tasks.Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.A proactive attitude and willingness to learn within a professional engineering environment.THE PACKAGE: Salary: €38,000
