The Senior API Technical Project Manager will provide global leadership and technical project management support for APIs at both internal manufacturing sites and external Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs). In addition to leading API technology transfer teams, the project manager will serve as an API Subject Matter Expert (SME) within Veterinary Medicine R&D (VMRD), Global Manufacturing and Supply (GMS), and the API CMO network for Zoetis. This role is directly tied to Procurement and Global External Supply to ensure continuity of API supply. The Senior API Technical Project Manager will have an active role in evaluating suppliers and processes, process troubleshooting, development of continuous process improvement projects, and providing support for the development of New Chemical Entities (NCE) and second generation technology through collaboration with VMRD
Position Responsibilities
Be SME for API processes and provide guidance and options to API Steering Committee to resolve compliance and sustainability issues
Lead API transfer teams providing technical project management support and technical expertise across the manufacturing network, including internal and external sites
Provide GMS API expertise and input regarding preferred process technologies on co-development and launch teams (NCEs)
Develop and maintain relationships with colleagues within the GMS and VMRD networks to identify potential value-creating opportunities for API manufacturing processes
Facilitate the flow of sufficient information from all sources to fully understand customer needs, and follow up to ensure business requirements are fully met
Participate in complex troubleshooting and problem-solving activities across the manufacturing network promoting utilization of the DMAIC process
Identify and mitigate quality and supply risks related to API
Keep abreast of technological advances specific to API technologies, applying new techniques where appropriate
Participate in due diligence efforts and technical assessment of CMOs to support evaluation of potential sourcing options/changes
Education and Experience
BSc degree in chemistry or chemical engineering is required, MSc or PhD desired
15 years of industry experience, minimum of 5 years of API process chemistry experience
Project Management experience, managing cross functional teams, including internal departments and external collaborators
Mastery of scientific principles, practices, and theories with broad API experience
Demonstration of strong skills in organic chemistry and API manufacturing
Skilled in applying statistical methods to API process performance

Physical Position Requirements
This role is based in Ireland or the US, with travel, including international travel, as needed (~15%)
Proven competence in organizing, planning (quarterly/annually), personal learning, delegation, managing & measuring, process management, problem solving, and ability to lead or support multiple teams, groups, functions, key projects or processes.
Comprehensive demonstrated skills in communicating (oral and written) effectively with diverse individuals/groups, facilitating trust, understanding, growth and continuous improvement and developing effective empowering and enabling employee, business and customer relationships.
Demonstrated ability to work in diverse environment and internationally.
Fluent in English. Other European languages are considered as a plus.
Willingness to travel 25 - 30%.
