This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to join an established planning team, supporting and influencing the forward planning, analytical, development control, and construction aspects of the business. The role involves research and administrative activities to support the planning team, including monitoring planning applications nationwide, extracting relevant information, and presenting data to inform decision-making within Cairn.
Research will be conducted across the country and abroad to influence Cairn's development design and construction. This research will help identify future development opportunities based on factual information such as development plans, CSO statistics, geographical data, and new employment centres. A key requirement is the ability to analyze and present data clearly. The role also includes administrative tasks related to the planning compliance stage of development.
Key responsibilities:
Typically, the candidate will undertake and assist with:
* Focused research on specific geographical areas, employment sectors, and infrastructural improvements.
* Maintaining a monitoring database of relevant developments.
* Supporting the Planning team to ensure the timely delivery of statutory certification and planning compliance documentation.
* Carrying out site visits and feasibility studies of potential sites.
* Supporting the Planning team with compliance tracking, calendar management, monthly reports, and general administration.
The candidate:
The successful candidate will have:
* An NFQ Level 8 qualification (Bachelor's Degree) or a suitable professional qualification in a relevant field, with 1-2 years of professional experience.
* Strong analytical and IT skills.
* Excellent report writing, presentation skills, and clear communication.
* The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
* GIS mapping experience is desirable.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good attention to detail.
* A clean driving license and access to a car are desirable.
