Teaching Fellow - Post-Primary
A Teaching Fellow is sought to join the programme team of the post-primary teacher education programme, the Professional Master of Education (PME), validated by QQI and professionally accredited by the Teaching Council of Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
* School Placement Tutor Role: Conduct school placement visits to students as required.
* Research Tutor Role: Be research active in the field of teacher education and new developments in initial teacher education.
* Subject Lead Role: Act as Subject Lead for three modules per academic year, across two cohorts (Spring and Autumn).
* Assessment Responsibilities: Contribute to assessment planning; provide training and guidance to tutors; undertake moderation as required and appropriate.
Overall Responsibilities:
* Contribute significantly to the development of teaching, learning and assessment on the post-primary programme.
* Support the Programme Director in monitoring and developing the programme, including academic and professional accreditation and review.
* Ensure compliance with external requirements, including QQI, the Department of Education and Skills, and the Teaching Council.
Additional Commitment:
* Attend staff meetings.
* Participate in School Placement Tutor (SPT) training days.
* Attend Graduation Day.
* Participate in orientation events.
* Support the Programme Director in managing the assessment process.
Requirements/Qualifications:
* Essential: Qualified to at least Masters level. Post Primary teacher and eligible for registration with the Teaching Council of Ireland.
* Desirable: Active member of committees, forums, national bodies, and or working groups relevant to the role.
