Key Role: Services Architecture Manager
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technical professional to join our team as a Services Architecture Manager on a permanent, full-time basis.
The role is primarily based at our Dublin offices, but we offer a flexible remote working arrangement, allowing you to work from home up to three days a week. You will be expected to work at least two days a week in the office, providing a balanced and dynamic work environment.
About the Team
The Services Architecture team leads the design, build, and integration of services within our portfolio of technical services. We work closely with Network and Systems Engineers across various teams within the Technical Services Function.
About the Role
As the Service Architecture Manager, you will report directly to the Technical Services Head of Function. Your key responsibilities include managing a team of Technical Architects, ensuring that developed services meet high standards, comply with policies, and are well-maintained before being handed over to operational teams for service delivery.
* Coaching the team through challenges and ensuring incident escalations and feature requests are handled effectively.
* Ensuring the team's focus on performance objectives aligns with company strategy, adjusting objectives as needed.
* Chairing the HEAnet internal Engineering Standards Group, which approves services before entering production status.

What We Need From You
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* Previous experience managing a technical team
* Experience with Kubernetes or similar containerized orchestration services
* Knowledge of Gitlab and CI/CD pipelines
* Previous software development experience and problem-solving skills
* Thorough understanding of PKI
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Experience with risk management
* Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment
