Our company is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join their team. As a key member of the organization, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining a proactive health and safety culture across the site.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years' relevant experience in the food production industry, preferably with a third-level qualification in a related field. Strong relationship-building skills, drive, confidence, and resilience are essential for this role. The ability to manage sensitive information with absolute confidentiality and integrity is also crucial.

The Health and Safety Specialist will be responsible for:

* Staying informed of new health & safety legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of developments within the industry.
* Leading the development of a proactive health & safety culture and continuous improvement projects across the site.
* Conducting regular internal audits to ensure policies and procedures are implemented effectively, documenting and reporting findings to management.
* Carrying out and updating risk assessments, implementing preventative measures, and monitoring compliance.
* Developing safe systems of work and maintaining risk trackers as required.
* Leading safety briefings, toolbox talks, and huddles alongside Line Managers and Supervisors.
* Investigating, recording, and following up on incidents, accidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences.
* Maintaining the site's Emergency Plan & Procedures, ensuring key responders are trained and prepared.
* Overseeing and monitoring all third-party activities to ensure safe working practices.

The successful candidate will have:

* At least 3 years' relevant experience, ideally within the food production industry.
* A third-level qualification in a related field.
* Strong relationship-building skills with colleagues and senior management.
* Drive, confidence, and resilience to see projects through to completion.
* Excellent problem-solving ability and innovative thinking.
* High levels of organisation and meticulous attention to detail.
* Commitment to keeping up to date with health & safety legislation and industry developments.
* Ability to manage sensitive information with absolute confidentiality and integrity.
* Outstanding communication skills and a professional manner.
* Proficiency in MS Office applications.
