Overview
Accounting Associate EMEA - Galway - Permanent - Hybrid
Working with a growing US medical device company with its EMEA Headquarters in Galway, there is a requirement for an Accounting Associate to join the EMEA team.
Reporting to the EMEA Senior Financial Accountant, you'll have an accounting background ideally with 4 plus years' experience, preferably in a shared service centre/multinational environment.
Responsibilities
Accounts Payable duties include creation of new vendors, processing purchase orders, entering, payment and allocation of vendor invoices and reconciliation of vendor accounts
Manage bi-monthly payment runs.
Auditing, entering, payment and reconciliation of employee expenses on Concur.
Prepare schedules to maintain and track various expenses and vendor activity.
Assist in the financial close process under US GAAP on a monthly basis.
Assist with the financial audits under both US GAAP and local statutory requirements.
Assist with VAT and related filings on a monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly and annual basis
Sales Operations responsibilities including creation of new customers, sales quotations and aspects of accounts receivable.
Assist with implementation of upgraded ERP system with focus on AP functions.
Provide ongoing support to the EMEA Commercial Team (Sales, Marketing, Operations, Clinical & Quality Functions) as required
Assist EMEA Senior Financial Accountant and EMEA Financial Controller with other projects and priorities as needed.
Requirements
Degree qualification / accounting technician / part qualified accountant
Multinational experience would be an advantage
Minimum of 4 years relevant experience.
Knowledge of finance and accounting principles, including GAAP, and knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
Intermediate-to-advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics or similar ERP systems.
Working knowledge of Concur would be an advantage.
A growth mindset in relation to process improvements and new systems.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and analytical skills
Ability to collaborate with a multi-department team.
