Specifics of the Job:
We are seeking a Site Engineer to join our team on a civil engineering project in the Midlands. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the setting out, quality control, and day-to-day site operations related to drainage, groundworks, and reinforced concrete structures. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic construction team delivering key infrastructure works.
This position will be based in Midlands.
Work pattern – 5 days a week in the office/site based
Key Duties:
· Health, Safety & Environment:
- Familiarisation and preparation of safety documentation such as Risk Assessments and Method Statements and other safety documentation relevant to the specific project you are working on.
- To establish and implement site systems and controls consistent with health and safety regulations, company policies and project requirements including quality systems and project engineering standards.
· Programme & Progress:
- Attend site meetings with site management and provide feedback on progress.
- Assist with preventing, identifying and rectifying issues on site which may delay the works.
- Maintain detailed site records, including daily diaries, progress reports, and material tracking.
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and external stakeholders as required.
· Design & Design Assurance:
- Ensure all works are carried out to design specifications, industry standards, and project requirements.
- Inspection and Testing Plans [ITPs] – familiarisation with the ITPs and conduct inspections and quality checks on works being carried out.
- Maintain accurate records of as-built data, testing, and compliance documentation.
- Technical Queries [TQs] – Highlight issues on site and drawing sketches to inform the site management of the issues.
· Quality Management:
- Non-Conformance Reports [NCRs] – Assisting with documenting, tracking and closing out.
- Defects and Outstanding Works Lists [DOWLS] – Assisting with documenting, tracking and closing out.
- Quality Handover Documentation – Assisting with collating handover information.
- Quality Readiness Reviews – Assisting in Lessons Learnt/Improvements
· Operations:
- Establish accurate site levels, control points, and reference markers for construction.
- Use GPS, total stations, and laser levels to ensure correct positioning of drainage systems, foundations, and reinforced concrete structures.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar related field.
* Proven experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering projects, specifically in drainage, groundworks, and reinforced concrete
* CSCS Card (essential)
* SMSTS or SSSTS certification (desirable).
Technical Skills:
* Proficiency in setting out using GPS, total stations, and laser levels.
* Understanding of civil engineering drawings, specifications, and standards.
* Experience with AutoCAD and other construction software.
