The Opportunity
We are seeking candidates who are pursuing Bachelors or Masters degrees in Geology, Engineering, Geology, or related disciplines to join on placement with our Ground Engineering Team in Dublin or Cork. This is an opportunity for candidates with an interest in all aspects of ground engineering who wishes to gain experience among our team of geo-specialists.
The role also offers the opportunity to gain experience of other disciplines through working as part of multidisciplinary project teams.
Responsibilities
As a Engineering Geologist Work Placement Student at Arup, you will be:
* Contributing to wide variety of projects, both in Ireland and overseas, working in both the field and office-based work under the supervision of senior staff.
* Planning, supervising and reporting on ground investigations
* Design of foundations, retaining structures, slope stability and earthworks for a range of building and infrastructure projects.
* Undertaking desks studies and site walkovers
* Groundwater modelling and well design
* Contaminated land assessment and remediation
* Communicating effectively in written and verbal presentation formats
* Incorporating digital tools and automation in our projects
