Social Media & Content Assistant - Dublin Unijobs on behalf of our public sector client have a requirement for a suitably skilled Social Media & Content Assistant to join their team.
The duration of this post is 6 months initially with possible extensions thereafter.
This role will be fully onsite in Dublin 8.
Working 35 hours per week, the successful candidate will be employed as an agency employee and will be paid an hourly rate of €***** per hour based on an annualised salary of € 35,609.
You will accrue 28 days annual leave per year and paid Bank Holidays.
About the Role We are seeking a Social Media & Content Assistant to support the day-to-day running of our social media channels and content output.
Reporting to the Social Media Lead, this role will help create graphics and short-form videos, draft and schedule posts, support social media coverage of events and engage with our online community in line with the clients policies and tone of voice.
Key Duties and Responsibilities - Content Creation & Design Create clear, professional graphics for social media using Canva and other client's -approved tools.
Adapt and resize graphics for multiple platforms (e.g. LinkedIn, Facebook, X, YouTube, internal channels).
Support the development of infographics, quote cards, event visuals and campaign assets in line with client's brand guidelines.
Video & Short-Form Content Edit short-form video content (e.g. clips, reels, shorts) using Adobe Premiere Pro or similar video editing software.
Cut longer recordings (e.g. interviews, webinars, events) into social-ready clips, including captions/subtitles.
Prepare basic motion/animated assets where appropriate (e.g. transitions, text overlays).
Scheduling & Publishing Assist with drafting short, clear social media posts and captions in line with client's tone of voice and plain English.
Schedule content using agreed social media management tools and content calendars as directed by the Social Media Lead Ensure posts are accurate, on time and aligned with planned campaigns and key organisational dates.
Social Media Event Coverage Support live and same-day coverage of key events (e.g. capturing short video clips, photos and notes for posts).
Prepare pre-event, live and post-event content as agreed with the Social Media Lead.
Community Engagement & Monitoring Monitor comments, messages and mentions across T&T social media accounts during agreed hours.
Flag sensitive or high-risk issues promptly to the Social Media Lead and relevant internal teams.
Support positive engagement by drafting suggested responses based on agreed messages and FAQs.
Team & Administrative Support Maintain shared folders for graphics, video files and campaign assets.
Update content calendars, tracking sheets and basic performance logs as required.
Assist with collating links, screenshots and simple metrics for reporting.
Essential Requirements Experience creating social media graphics using Canva (portfolio or examples an advantage).
Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro (or similar) for basic video editing and short-form content.
Experience drafting short-form digital content (e.g. social media posts, captions, event updates).
Familiarity with key social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, X, YouTube; others an advantage).
Ability to follow brand guidelines and apply client's tone of voice and plain English principles.
Strong attention to detail in proofreading, checking layouts and reviewing content before publishing.
Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, take direction and use initiative within agreed briefs.
Proficiency in standard office tools (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel/Sheets, PowerPoint).
Desirable Experience working in a public sector, healthcare or large organisation communications environment.
Experience using a social media management tool (e.g. Agorapulse or similar).
