Business Development Director
You will proactively engage with firms to understand their specific business challenges, needs and requirements within the Financial Services Sector. You will identify and then educate on where Version 1 is uniquely positioned to support their needs. You will build out sales and partner channel opportunities to maximize the lead generation and brand exposure.
Responsibilities:
* Develop new business: For our Banking, Insurance & Capital Market sectors, leveraging existing and create new relationships for commercials.
* Build long-term relationships: With senior-level key stakeholders in strategic and designated accounts.
* Lead large sales opportunities: Developed both directly through our Commercial team and/or through our strategic technology partnerships (Microsoft, AWS, and Oracle).
* Lead smaller sales opportunities: Independently or with involvement from other members of the commercial team.
* Communicate value: Of Version 1's products and services via personal presentations and clearly written proposals.
* Execute contracts: Client engagement, commercials, contracting, delivery practice engagement, and project mobilisation.
* Support bid production: And tender responses.
* Collaborate cross-functionally: To develop sales and marketing strategies to promote Version 1's product and services.
* Maintain relationships: With channel partners (AWS, MS, Oracle etc) to ensure effective and timely delivery of their commitment.
* Manage pipeline: Financial forecasting, activity tracking, strategic and territory planning ensuring success.
* Conduct selection process: Studies and undertaking demonstrations during the selection process for large consulting project or managed services bids.
* Pre-qualify sales opportunities: Lead the pre-qualification process to ensure all customer sales opportunities and bids are fully qualified and identified as winnable.
* Respond to customer requirements: Respond to detailed Customer Requirements documents.
* Prepare and deliver presentations: Preparation and delivery of Prospect and Client presentations of Version 1 propositions to customers.
* Support bid lifecycle: Support all levels of the Bid process lifecycle.
Qualifications:
* High-energy and drive: Demonstrate the necessary high-energy, tenacity, drive and individual ambition that is required to be successful in a sales environment.
* Direct sales experience: Have impressive direct sales experience in a financial services environment.
* Sales targets: Display a consistent track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
* Executive-level communication: Demonstrate the ability to present and connect to executive level audiences.
* Client relationships: Have experience of building and maintaining excellent client relationships.
* Competitive advantage: Demonstrate experience in a financial services market with proven track record of beating competitors.
* Solution-based selling: Display solid working history of solution based consultative selling to maximize sales through identifying metrics.
Experience:
* Sales environment: You must have extensive experience in a sales environment with a solid background in the Financial Services Sector.
* Financial Services sector: Experience working as a successful business development director delivering IT Services and technology solutions into the Financial Services sector in Ireland.
* Commercial awareness: Good commercial awareness and sound understanding of project and business dynamics.
* Communication skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage at all levels across an organisation internally and externally.
* Influencing skills: Influencing skills: the ability to get people at multiple levels to deliver what you need on time and with high quality, even though they won't report to you will be critical to the success of the role.
* Financial Services buying cycles: Knowledge of the Financial Services Sector buying cycles and procurement processes, including Frameworks, Channel Partners (AWS/Microsoft), and complex bidding environments.
* Written skills: Strong written skills in order to complete tender and internal documentation to a high standard – you must have excellent Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills. You'll be highly attentive to detail.
