Commercial Lines Broker Job Description
This role involves proactively engaging with both existing and prospective clients to manage broking, placement, processing, and administration of renewals, mid-term adjustments, claims, and new business opportunities.
1. Manage and maintain a portfolio of current clients, ensuring timely communication and effective relationship-building.
2. Prepare and send pre-renewal documents, adhering to company procedures for issuing renewal terms and fostering a culture of compliance.
3. Conduct re-broking activities and prepare renewal terms for clients, leveraging technical knowledge of commercial insurance products to provide tailored solutions.
4. Coordinate payments, including arranging finance options as needed, to ensure seamless transactions and customer satisfaction.
5. Issue post-renewal documentation promptly to clients, maintaining transparency and open communication throughout the process.
6. Identify and assess client risks, offering information on relevant products and services to meet their needs and drive business growth.
7. Actively develop and grow a pipeline of new business prospects, utilizing strong networking skills and industry knowledge to establish meaningful connections.
8. Ensure full compliance with regulatory and company standards at all times, upholding the highest level of integrity and professionalism.
9. Support the company's objectives related to client retention and business growth, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
10. Assist with ongoing customer service and support, providing expert advice and assistance with claims as they arise.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Strong administrative and organizational skills, able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
* Solid technical knowledge of commercial insurance products, including Professional Indemnity, Directors & Officers Liability, Cyber insurance, and similar areas.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
* Excellent communication and client service abilities, with a strong focus on building long-term relationships and driving business success.
* Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with experience using other software applications as needed.
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in commercial insurance broking, with a proven track record of success and a strong understanding of the industry.
* CIP qualification or actively working towards it, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
