Due to continued growth, new contracts and an extensive pipeline of work, one of Irelands top Civil and Contractors are hiring a Project Manager to join their team and oversee the successful delivery of civil engineering projects within the ESB sector, top-tier public realm and infrastructure projects across the midlands.
This role requires a strong background in managing civil projects, with a particular focus on electrical infrastructure, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
Duties: Lead and manage civil engineering projects for the ESB or Local Councils, including planning, execution, and closeout.
Ensure that all work is carried out according to the project scope, schedule, and budget.
Maintain effective communication with internal teams, ESB clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery and resolve any issues or concerns promptly.
Oversee and manage the allocation of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, ensuring optimal efficiency and productivity on site.
Ensure all civil works comply with relevant standards, local regulations, and health and safety guidelines.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality.
Identify potential risks to project timelines or costs and implement mitigation strategies to address them.
Manage project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking expenses, and ensuring projects stay within the allocated financial scope.
Provide regular progress reports to senior management, clients, and other stakeholders, outlining project status, key milestones, and any issues encountered.
Lead, motivate, and manage project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Requirements: Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering project management, preferably with a focus on ESB or electrical infrastructure projects.
A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is desirable.
Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, ICE, or similar) would be an advantage.
Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, project management techniques, and ESB industry standards.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and team members.
Ability to identify challenges quickly and develop effective solutions to keep projects on track.
Proven experience in leading and motivating cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
