Location: Stocking Line, Rathfarnham, Dublin 16Reporting to: Site ManagerHours: 37.5 hours per weekShift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:00 -16:00General Duties and ResponsibilitiesClean and disinfect patient rooms, treatment areas, waiting rooms, corridors, restrooms, dining rooms, sluice rooms, stairs, and lifts.Perform regular cleaning of high-touch surfaces (e.g., door handles, light switches, handrails).Remove waste, including clinical and hazardous waste, in accordance with health and safety regulations.Replenish supplies such as soap, hand sanitizer, toilet paper, and paper towels.Mop, vacuum, and polish floors using appropriate equipment and cleaning agents.Follow cleaning schedules and complete checklists for daily, weekly, and deep-cleaning tasks.Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to the supervisor.Wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and adhere strictly to infection control protocols.Support emergency cleaning needs, including spills and biohazard incidents.Site-Specific Tasks (May Vary)Assist with terminal cleaning after patient discharge.Use specialized disinfectants for isolation rooms or infectious areas.Follow procedures for handling contaminated laundry or equipment.Participate in infection prevention and control training sessions.Coordinate with medical and nursing staff to minimize disruption during cleaning.Special Considerations in Mental Health SettingsBe mindful when working in secure or high-risk areas; always follow security and safety protocols.Use minimal or approved cleaning chemicals as per hospital policy.Adapt tasks based on patient needs or behavior, with guidance from clinical staff.Communicate calmly and respectfully, avoiding confrontation or intrusive behavior.Working ConditionsWork may involve standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.Shift work, including weekends and public holidays, may be required.Work may take place in areas with potential exposure to bodily fluids or infectious materials (appropriate protection will be provided).Qualification Required:Experience in Cleaning (Preferred), Knowledge of Hygiene and Disinfection Procedures,Physical Fitness and Good Health, Attention to Detail and Thoroughness, Willingness to Work.HSEQUnderstand how ISO fits into daily business operations.Read, understand and work in accordance with the company's HSEQ Policies.Complete tasks in accordance with company HSEQ procedures and work instructionsOther features of the jobIt may be necessary to work alternative hours, shift patterns or unsociable hours, including weekends and sometimes more than contracted hours.
