Senior Property Development Manager
This pivotal government body addresses Ireland's housing challenges by unlocking public and other lands for affordable and social housing. With a mandate to deliver over 23,000 homes through direct delivery and strategic partnerships, it shapes Ireland's urban future.
The organisation is backed by significant equity capital and permitted to borrow up to €1.25 billion, progressing over 25 direct delivery projects and spearheading initiatives that collaborate with private developers. It leads master-planning of major regeneration zones such as Limerick Colbert Quarter, Cork Docklands, and Sandy Road in Galway.
As a Senior Property Development Manager, you will manage a portfolio of large-scale residential and regeneration projects across Ireland, reporting directly to the Head of Property. You will lead projects from early-stage concept through to planning, procurement, and commencement of construction, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and development briefs.
You will be expected to:
1. Lead cross-functional teams of internal professionals and external consultants.
2. Drive commercial viability, ensuring each scheme is financially sound.
3. Develop and present investment strategies, securing internal approvals.
4. Oversee procurement of design teams, contractors, and development partners.
5. Represent the organisation externally, building relationships with stakeholders.
6. Mentor and manage a team of development professionals.
7. Monitor project performance, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions.
Requirements:
* 15+ years of experience in property development, with a strong track record of delivering complex projects.
* A degree-level qualification in construction, property, engineering, or a related field.
* Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, feasibility analysis, procurement, and stakeholder engagement.
* Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience with investment appraisals and cost planning.
* Deep understanding of technical disciplines, planning systems, and construction methodologies.
* Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, manage competing interests, and build consensus among stakeholders.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Experience with public procurement processes and governance frameworks is highly desirable.
