It has more than 25 years of commercial experience producing over 22 million tonnes of low carbon materials which have been used in major projects such as the Grand Paris Express, the Paris Olympic infrastructure, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and Dublin's Aviva Stadium.
The company is poised for significant growth ahead of the launch of its ground-breaking ACT technology in late ****.
The result of over 10 years of research and innovation, ACT contains up to 70% less CO2 than traditional cement and is globally scalable.
In preparation for this exciting growth trajectory, the company is looking to appoint an experienced Media Relations Manager to significantly expand the company's media reach and bring its story to new audiences globally.
The Senior Media Relations Manager is responsible for shaping and delivering the company's global media strategy.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successfully growing a company's profile in the media through a diverse range of proactive strategies.
This role will drive brand awareness, secure high-impact media coverage, and develop compelling narratives to grow its reach and strengthen the company's position as a global leader in low-carbon cement technologies.
Reporting to the Director of Communications and Brand, the successful candidate will work as part of a small and dynamic Dublin-based team collaborating closely with in-country communications and marketing colleagues as well as external agencies.
Role Responsibilities
Develop and execute global media strategy:
Devise and deliver proactive media strategies to rapidly increase awareness and reach of the Ecocem story.
Secure media coverage:
Pitch stories and secure coverage across relevant print, broadcast, and digital outlets, including global top-tier media outlets, national and trade media.
Build and maintain media relationships:
Establish strong, trusted relationships with journalists, editors, and influencers.
Identify opportunities:
Proactively spot news hooks, commentary opportunities, and thought leadership angles to elevate and strengthen the organisation's position in the market.
Create media materials:
Draft best in class press releases, media pitches, key messages, briefing documents, Q&A, and spokesperson talking points.
Act as primary media contact:
Manage inbound media enquiries and coordinate timely, accurate and appropriate responses.
Prepare spokespeople:
Brief and train executives and subject-matter experts for interviews, press briefings, and media appearances.
Issues and crisis support:
Support the management of sensitive issues and crisis communications, including holding statements.
Monitor media coverage:
Track coverage, sentiment, and share of voice; provide timely insight and reporting to stakeholders.
Manage external agencies:
Oversee PR agencies or media consultants to deliver against objectives.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Proven senior-level experience in media management with a minimum of three years' experience in a similar role.
Exceptional copywriting and editorial skills.
Fluency in media engagement
Proven track record pitching and securing top-tier media coverage.
Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate complex issues into media hooks
Experience advising and preparing senior executives for a range of media engagements
Track record successfully managing agency relationships.
