Your new employer is looking for a qualified candidate to join their finance team as an Accounts Assistant. This is a 6-month contract opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
* Process and reconcile supplier invoices, staff expenses, and credit card transactions by verifying accuracy and completeness.
* Perform bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are properly recorded.
* Assist with monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
* Maintain the general ledger to ensure timely posting of transactions.
* Support month-end and year-end close procedures by reviewing financial reports.
* Produce reports for internal stakeholders to facilitate decision-making.
* Evaluate and maintain compliance with financial policies and internal controls.
* Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to coordinate tasks effectively.
* Provide ad-hoc finance support as needed.
What you'll need to succeed:
* Experience working with accounting software such as Accounts IQ.
* A strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles.
* Ability to prepare accurate and complete monthly management accounts.
* High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
* AAT qualification or part-qualification ACA/ACCA/CIMA (desirable).
