Overall Purpose of the Job:
UL is committed to embedding Equality, Diversity, Inclusion, and Human Rights into all aspects of its operations. Reporting to the Provost and Deputy President, the postholder will lead the implementation of UL’s EDI and Human Rights agenda, ensuring compliance with legislation, achieving accreditation benchmarks, and representing UL on national and international committees.
The role involves strategic leadership, policy development, stakeholder engagement, and driving culture change within the university to foster an inclusive environment. The postholder will be a recognized expert in EDI and Human Rights, with relevant qualifications and extensive experience, capable of leading initiatives and managing teams effectively.
Key responsibilities include leading the EDI-Human Rights department, managing the development and execution of strategies and action plans, overseeing compliance and reporting, and promoting best practices in equality and inclusion. The role also entails stakeholder engagement, risk management, and data analysis to measure progress and impact.
Essential competencies include collaborative leadership, strategic planning, extensive knowledge of EDI legislation and best practices, stakeholder management, and excellent communication skills. Desirable qualities include a research record in EDI-Human Rights and experience in organizational growth and change management.
