Your New Role & Responsibilities
The Chief Civil Engineer is seeking to recruit a specialist Environmental Manager to provide support in legal compliance, environmental management, and biodiversity goals. As an Environmental Sustainability Expert in the Environmental Department, you will contribute to the efficient functioning of departmental functions, manage the Environmental Management System, and ensure maintenance activities are progressed in an expeditious manner.
* Provide leadership assistance and contribute to departmental efficiency.
* Manage the Environmental Management System to retain certification.
* Maintain environmental records and statistics.
You will work closely with the CCE, Infrastructure Managers, Regional Managers, and Building & Facilities teams to ensure safe operating conditions for train services and passenger movement, while balancing the protection of the natural environment within railway lands.

Required Skills and Qualifications
A Level 8 degree (minimum) in an environment-related discipline and 10 years' post-graduate work experience are essential. A detailed knowledge of Irish and EU environmental and planning legislation, as well as knowledge of Environmental Management Systems, is required. Experience and/or knowledge of environmental aspects and impacts within a railway/transport environment is desirable. -----------------------------------
