Overview
Join RSA Insurance Ireland as the Operational Resilience Manager. This role sits in the First Line of Defence and provides technology resilience assurance to the business by identifying risks, recommending technology improvement actions, supporting the implementation of controls, validating the design and effectiveness of controls, and reporting on progress. This role covers RSA Ireland and 123.ie across Ireland, focusing on technology resilience, disaster recovery, business continuity and crisis management.
Responsibilities
Development and maintenance of the technology resilience aspect of the wider Resilience Management System.
Incident Commander for live invocations in line with documented roles and responsibilities.
Support the delivery of business projects with a technology resilience bias or a dependency on technology, while managing resilience-initiated projects.
Participation in architecture design and change fora; coordinate inputs from technical teams, internal and external stakeholders.
Maintenance and development of the DR Framework and supporting structures.
Horizon scanning the legal and regulatory environment; engagement with the Three Lines of Defence.
Ensure the alignment of DR with Major Incident Management processes and procedures with clear delineation of roles and responsibilities.
Provide training and awareness programs to educate IT staff on disaster recovery best practices and procedures; mentor ITS personnel on DR.
Maintain the currency of the Resilience Management System and conduct risk assessments to identify and treat potential readiness posture issues.
Maintain situational readiness of the technology stack and stakeholders to support recovery in the event of a live invocation.
Respond promptly to disaster events, coordinate recovery efforts and communicate with stakeholders to ensure timely resolution and minimal business disruption.
Demonstrate and provide assurance on readiness through exercises and testing.
Third-Party Management: coordinate with third-party partners in support of technology performance objectives; assess resilience posture of third parties via Third-Party Risk Assessments and Testing.
Design, coordination and execution of the annual technology exercise and test programme including third-party exercises where applicable; remediation of exercise and test findings; DR performance reporting.
Business user relationship management in exercising and testing capacity; live invocation; lead and coordinate disaster recovery exercises to validate the effectiveness of recovery plans and procedures.
Qualifications
7–10 years of experience, preferably in Financial Services.
Background in Operational Resilience or a core component, with a strong understanding and experience in Risk Management.
Ireland-based but able to travel within Ireland.
Recognised resilience-related or risk certification.
