Role: Technical Sales Rep – Sheet Metal Fabrication & Structural Steel

Our well established Dublin based Client is seeking a motivated and technically minded Sales Representative to join their growing team. This role focuses on developing new business and managing existing client relationships within the sheet metal fabrication and structural steel sectors.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will play a key role in driving sales performance, shaping client strategy, and contributing to overall business growth.
You will act as the key link between customers and the production team, ensuring that client requirements are fully understood and translated into practical, cost-effective manufacturing solutions.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, engineers, and procurement teams.
Identify and secure new business opportunities within the industrial markets.
Review technical drawings and specifications to prepare accurate quotations.
Provide customers with technical advice on materials, fabrication processes, and design solutions
Liaise with internal departments (engineering, production, and operations) to ensure project feasibility and delivery
Manage projects from initial enquiry through to order completion
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with clients.
Monitor market trends and competitor activity
Requirements
Proven experience in technical sales, ideally within sheet metal fabrication or structural steel
Experience with estimating and costing.
Strong understanding of fabrication processes (cutting, bending, welding, CNC, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Excellent written and spoken English (a high level of fluency is essential)
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Commercial awareness and ability to manage margins and pricing
Self‑motivated with a results‑driven approach
Full, clean driving licence
Desirable
Background in mechanical engineering or fabrication.
Familiarity with CAD drawings or design software.
