IT Search has partnered with a leading Irish electronics manufacturer to recruit an Electronic Test & Validation Engineer for their R&D centre in Shannon. The company develops and manufactures high-volume safety and sensing products for global markets and has a strong reputation for innovation, quality, and engineering excellence.
This is a key technical role in a six-person product validation team, focused on rigorous hardware and software testing throughout the development lifecycle. The team is well-established and collaborative, with deep product knowledge — now looking to strengthen its hardware testing and high-voltage capability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and execute validation of new electronics products (including RF modules and IoT systems)
* Build and modify prototype boards, carry out high-voltage, ESD and transient testing
* Troubleshoot and debug at circuit/component level, working closely with design teams
* Create and maintain test documentation, reports and traceability records
* Support testing of UI, mobile applications and back-end components as needed
* Help maintain and improve lab processes and QA procedures
What You’ll Need:
* 2+ years’ experience in a test/validation role working with electronic hardware
* Skilled in reading schematics and using lab test equipment (oscilloscope, signal generators, multimeters, etc.)
* Confident with soldering and rework (including SMT)
* Experience with ESD, surge/transient or mains-powered product testing
* Detail-focused, with good documentation and reporting habits
* Degree or diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience
Nice to Have:
* Familiarity with LabView, Selenium or other test automation tools
* Experience using Jira or similar for defect tracking
* QA certification (e.g. ISTQB)
