Safety and Environmental Manager
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Safety and Environmental Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality across our business.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Provide expert knowledge, advice and support in relation to all aspects of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality.
2. Advise and monitor compliance on all legislative regulations, accreditation standards and company policies and procedures.
3. Act as the HSEQ advisor as required by the business.
4. Help coach managers to complete risk assessments and identify where high risk is evident.
5. Investigate with managers the cause of serious accidents and incidents and help managers put preventative actions in place.
6. Complete customer incident investigations.
7. Develop localised initiatives to drive HSEQ standards.
8. Support team members as and when is deemed necessary.
9. Visit all locations to complete audits.
Requirements:
* Professional person, not easily ruffled under pressure and able to express themselves clearly.
* Self-motivated and able to deal with all levels of personnel.
* Organised and good time manager, able to plan a schedule ahead.
* Confident in handling queries and problems on the telephone and face to face.
* Team player must have ability to communicate and participate with others in the team.
* Good analytical skills to be able to analyse cause and trends.
* Full, clean, current driving license.
* Willing to undertake further development.
Qualifications and Experience:
* NEBOSH General Certificate qualification or equivalent.
* Quality auditing skills for process audits.
* Awareness of ISO 9001, 14001, 18001 an advantage.
* Background in hire industry, logistics, warehousing or construction an advantage.
* Ability to use Microsoft Office and PC systems for reporting purposes.
