Job Description
We are seeking a
Qualified Electrician
with experience in
solar PV installations and EV charging solutions
to join a dynamic electrical services team. The successful candidate will work across the
Munster region
, supporting residential, commercial, and light industrial projects. This role offers hands-on work on renewable energy and sustainable technology installations, with a strong focus on quality, safety, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, test, and commission
solar PV systems
, including panels, inverters, mounting structures, and cabling
* Install and commission
EV charging stations
(domestic and commercial), including single and three-phase installations
* Carry out electrical installations and upgrades to support renewable energy systems
* Perform electrical testing and inspection, including
EICR and PAT testing
, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards
* Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications
* Ensure correct installation of
distribution boards, isolators, surge protection devices (SPDs), and RCDs
* Provide fault diagnosis and repair for solar PV and EV charging systems
* Maintain accurate documentation including test certificates, commissioning reports, and handover packs
* Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and customers to ensure projects are completed on time and to specification
* Follow all health & safety procedures, including site-specific RAMS, toolbox talks, and safe working practices
* Travel across the Munster region
to complete installations and service calls efficiently
Essential Requirements
* Fully qualified Electrician (QQI / City & Guilds / Equivalent)
* Strong experience in electrical installations with a focus on
solar PV and/or EV charging
* Proven competency in electrical testing and compliance (EICR, PAT testing)
* Knowledge of
single-phase and three-phase distribution
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
* Full clean driving licence
* Willingness to travel across the Munster region
* Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach
Desirable
* Solar PV or EV charging certifications (e.g.,
SEAI PV Installer
, NICEIC, etc.)
* Experience with
battery storage systems
* Experience with commercial solar projects
* Familiarity with smart charging and energy management systems
* Experience working at height and with roof-mounted installations
* CSCS card or relevant site safety certifications
