This exciting, high-impact role will drive the commercialization of groundbreaking academic research in small molecule and biological therapies, biomaterials, biomarkers, and advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs). A joint initiative between Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin, and RCSI, the ARC Hub unites Ireland’s biopharma ecosystem—venture capitalists, indigenous companies, state agencies, and advisors—to transform promising research into real-world commercial successes.The successful candidate for this role will be expected to have proven leadership, senior management and operational experience gained in the pharmaceutical industry or through a significant role in the biotech industry. They will have an extensive network within the pharma and investor sector, and a track record of deal-making in the life science sector. This could include SME fundraising experience and/or securing investment from the pharmaceutical sector (or similar).Key ResponsibilitiesLead strategy, operations, and financial management of the ARC Hub, overseeing a multi-institutional operations team.Develop and nurture relationships with investors, industry partners, and government agencies to propel spin-outs, licensing deals, and commercial outputs.Guide project selection, maintain oversight of the research portfolio, and ensure the Hub’s long-term sustainability.Serve as a public-facing ambassador, representing the Hub both nationally and internationally.Foster entrepreneurial training, collaboration, and innovation to shape Ireland’s next generation of life science leaders.Required Experience & Skills10–15 years in senior leadership within pharma/biotech, with a proven track record of securing investments and driving deal-making.Extensive industry and investor networks, plus hands-on experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.Demonstrated strategic, financial, and people-management expertise.Excellent communication and negotiation skills, able to influence diverse stakeholders at the highest levels.Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in leadership.PhD in a relevant life science field (or equivalent).Experience with academic institutions, government bodies, and early-stage drug discovery.If you’re ready to lead this transformative collaboration and catalyze innovation in Ireland’s life science sector, please send your CV and cover letter to Cranmore Executive Search.
