Type: Contract (11 months, scope for extension)
Location: Dublin (onsite)
We’re looking for experienced Optical Deployment Engineers to help deliver optical capacity between data centres. The network designs are already in place - you will focus on turning these designs into live deployments, supporting field teams, troubleshooting, and using internal tools to configure and validate devices.
This is a hands‑on role for engineers who enjoy delivery and seeing projects through to completion.
Please note this is a fully onsite position based in Dublin and candidates must have the relevant visa / Irish / EU passport to be considered for this position.
Key Duties:
Deliver optical capacity between data centre sites
Prepare deployment documentation and connection packs for field teams
Support field engineers during turn-ups and live deployments
Troubleshoot optical issues and handle deployment‑related tickets
Use internal software tools or scripts (e.g. Python) to configure and validate devices
Work closely with operations and connection teams to make sure deployments are successful
Experience / Qualifications required:
Hands‑on experience with DWDM, ROADM or similar optical transport systems
Experience delivering data centre interconnects or high‑capacity optical links
Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of optical layers (fibre loss, signal quality, OSNR, Q‑factor)
Comfortable supporting field engineers and following pre‑defined designs
Familiarity with automation or scripting to support deployments
