The Senior Contract Manager will oversee the pre- and post-contract requirements of the Infrastructure Department's Portfolio, ensuring strict compliance with framework agreements and Work Orders.
Understand and align to the Contracting Entity's Contract Management standards, assuring compliance with the chosen Contract suite (e.g., NEC) and programme.
Ensure full compliance with Contract Management standards and contractual terms, reporting non-compliance.
Manage commercial relationships and ways of working with Contractors and Consultants to drive continuous improvement.
Review draft contracts, ensuring fit-for-purpose tailoring and coordinating inputs from advisors.
Lead contractual negotiations and provide guidance to Project and Programme Directors.
Undertake delay damages calculations as required.
Establish and review contract management strategies and performance management frameworks.
Set KPI targets in Incentive Schedules within NEC contracts and review contractor performance.
Qualifications
15+ years experience in contract/cost management and administration, with at least 7 years of NEC experience (10+ years for an intermediate level).
Knowledge of monitoring Contractor and Consultant performance.
Significant experience in claims management and performance frameworks.
Experience in administering NEC contracts and building a KPI library.
Experience developing and implementing individual contract management strategies.
Essential Skills
Able to lead a team.
Extensive analytical, negotiation, report writing and presentation skills.
Computer literacy and understanding of CEMAR and Unifier.
