Position: Facilities Maintenance Technician

Job Description: The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for hands‑on maintenance, calibration and preventive upkeep of facility equipment ensuring compliance with cGMP, EHS and client standards.
Responsibilities
Provide on‑site and on‑call maintenance cover, carrying out routine and non‑routine tasks delegated by the Facilities Supervisor, Hard Services Lead, Planner, Engineers and Manager.
Repair mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, automation and civil equipment malfunctions.
Execute preventive maintenance routines and assist in construction, commissioning and qualification of equipment.
Develop and maintain maintenance procedures, equipment files and documentation in accordance with site standards.
Select appropriate spare parts and maintain spare parts inventory to maximise equipment availability.
Operate all facility utilities and equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring maximum uptime.
Collect, analyse and report on equipment performance data.
Assist with rolling shutdown preparation and execution.
Manage maintenance contracts and coordinate with contractors.
Train and support other technicians in team procedures and techniques.
Assist in facilities store operations and other team operations as required.
Ensure all work activity complies with the PTW system and risk assessment method statements.
Carry out all PM activities in line with the SAP PM schedule.
Plan, schedule and execute the maintenance plan, attending morning meetings to review daily work orders.
Operate all site facilities utilities to cGMP standards, maintain equipment to cGMP, and keep accurate records in SAP CMMS.
Complete all documentation in compliance with site procedures and GDP, and report non‑conformances and deviations promptly to management.
Support investigation, resolution of problems and continuous improvement initiatives, including familiarisation with ME2 and facilities best practices.
Travel to other J&J sites for training, meetings and projects as required.
Log all jobs on the facilities management database, raise work permits, and manage building maintenance contractors.
First‑fix items on site within scope, and maintain client relationships through regular meetings and updates.
Issue work permits to external service providers under Facilities guidance.

Be familiar with daily activities in all areas of Facilities Maintenance.

Initiate and lead improvement projects such as 6S and error‑proofing.

Person Specification – Essential
Trade qualified.
At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
Proven ability to organise tasks and carry out duties efficiently.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Results‑ and performance‑driven; innovative and team‑player.
Mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, utilities aptitude.
Person Specification – Desirable
Practical experience in a similar role and a consistent approach to responsibilities.
Scientific or technical qualification in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & controls engineering.
Maintenance experience within a GMP regulated environment.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Experience with Delta V, PLC and SCADA systems.
Experience with SAP.
