Ward 6A are delighted to be recruiting for a Senior Staff Nurse (Band 6) to join our friendly and supportive team.
We are looking for a motivated, compassionate and approachable nurse who is passionate about delivering high-quality, safe and person‑centred care. An interest in Diabetes, Endocrinology and General Medicine would be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
Work a flexible pattern which can include days, nights, weekends and public holidays (self‑rostering available).
Play a key role in the day‑to‑day running of the ward, providing visible clinical leadership and supporting coordination of care across the shift.
Maintain a safe and effective skill mix.
Support and develop the nursing team and healthcare support workers.
Contribute to assessment, care planning and delivery of all aspects of care including observations and personal care.
Support the Senior Charge Nurse with ward management activities including off‑duty/rota process, annual leave planning, audits and quality improvement activities.
Help ensure that standards, documentation and patient experience remain consistently high.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience in nursing with a focus on Diabetes, Endocrinology and General Medicine is advantageous.
Strong teamwork, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
Knowledge of quality improvement and audit processes.
