Our client, a leading innovator in HVAC and advanced cooling technologies, is seeking an Electrical & Controls Design Engineerto join their R&D team in Cork.
This role will play a key part in developing next-generation cooling solutions for data centres, AI/HPC, and industrial applications.
You will be responsible for designing electrical systems, controls architecture, and instrumentation from early concept through to prototype validation, working closely with mechanical, software, and test engineering teams.

Key Highlights Design electrical architectures, schematics, and control panels for R&D and future production systems Specify instrumentation and sensors across air, water, and refrigerant circuits Contribute to controls architecture, I/O definitions, and system behaviour Ensure compliance with CE and relevant safety standards Collaborate cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced R&D environment What We're Looking For Degree in Electrical, Controls, Mechatronics, or related discipline3+ years' experience in electrical design, controls, or instrumentation Strong schematic design skills (Auto CAD Electrical or similar)Experience with industrial components, sensors, and control systems Excellent communication and documentation skills Nice to Have HVAC/R or refrigeration systems experience Exposure to UL standards and PLC‑based control systems Knowledge of data centre cooling architectures This role offers hands‑on involvement in innovative HVAC R&D, strong career progression, and the chance to work on technologies shaping the future of high‑density cooling.
