Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and corrective maintenance on HV/LV electrical systems, switchgear, transformers, motors, and associated equipment.
Perform electrical fault‑finding, diagnostics, and repair activities on plant electrical infrastructure.
Participate in HV/LV switching operations in accordance with site safety rules and procedures.
Maintain and test UPS systems, battery banks, and emergency generation equipment.
Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot process instrumentation including pressure transmitters, temperature sensors, flow meters, level instruments, and analysers.
Perform maintenance and configuration of PLCs, MarkVie, and SCADA systems.
Carry out loop testing, function testing, and commissioning of control and safety systems.
Diagnose and resolve control system faults to minimise plant downtime.
General Duties
Work in compliance with all Health & Safety regulations including ATEX requirements where applicable.
Complete all maintenance records and documentation accurately using the site CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) (Maximo IBM).
Liaise with contractors, OEM representatives, and engineering teams during maintenance activities.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant reliability and efficiency.
Participate in an on‑call rota to provide 24/7 maintenance cover as required.
Qualifications & Experience
FETAC/QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent trade qualification (City & Guilds, BTEC, etc.)
Minimum 3‑5 years of relevant experience in a power generation, utilities, oil & gas, or heavy industrial environment
Proven experience in fault diagnosis and maintenance of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems
Sound knowledge of HV/LV switching and permit‑to‑work (PTW) systems
Familiarity with PLC/DCS/SCADA systems (e.g., Siemens, ABB, Emerson, GE)
Experience working in a power generation environment (gas turbine, steam, or similar); desirable
Knowledge of ATEX/IECEx equipment and hazardous area classifications; desirable
Familiarity with IEC 61511 (Functional Safety) standards; desirable
Experience with Maximo PM or equivalent CMMS; desirable
Manual Handling, Working at Heights, and Confined Space certifications; desirable
