The Team
The purpose of the Business Development & Marketing (BD&M) team is to grow the William Fry business and enhance our brand within Irish and International markets. Our team is responsible for all aspects of the marketing mix and supports the partnership in business development and commercial opportunities.
Job Purpose
The Tenders & Pitches Bid Manager plays a central role in supporting business development in the Firm and winning commercial opportunities. The purpose of the role is to lead and manage the end-to-end tender and bid proposal process across the Firm’s practice areas, ensuring high-quality, client-focused submissions that support strategic growth and enhance win rates. This Manager will work closely with partners, fee earners, and business services teams to deliver compelling bids and embed best practices across the Firm.
Key Responsibilities
* Own the full lifecycle of bid and tender proposals from qualification to document submission and post-bid review.
* Managing public sector tender opportunities, from evaluation to submission.
* Coordinate bid teams, facilitate kick-off meetings, and define win strategies.
* Draft, edit, and proof high-quality bid content.
* Document management and formatting.
* Ensure bids are tailored to client needs, sector-specific, and aligned with firm strategy.
* Ensure consistency in messaging, branding, and tone across all submissions.
* Work closely with partners, lawyers and business services teams to gather input and feedback.
* Conduct post-bid reviews and record and share learnings to improve future submissions.
* Maintain and enhance bid content libraries and templates.
* Maintain bid management processes and records.
* Track bid outcomes, win rates, and provide regular reporting to senior management.
* Champion best practice and continuous improvement in bid processes.
Required Qualifications
* A minimum of three years’ experience working on tenders, pitches and bid proposals.
* Experience leading on tender submissions and taking ownership of the full life cycle
* Technical proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc.).
* Managing multiple projects simultaneously and ability to prioritise appropriately.
* Ability to perform under pressure, to tight client-set deadlines with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong attention to detail.
* An understanding of brand, design and creativity, including the ability to create visually appealing content through Microsoft Office tools.
* Ability to work alongside a wide variety of levels of seniority and personalities.
* A team player with a can-do attitude.
* Experience in business development or bid management within the professional services industry.
* Delivering tender and pitch training to colleagues.
