Role DescriptionThe Fashion Product Design Assistant supports the design and development process from concept to production, helping transform creative ideas into market-ready products. This role works closely with designers, product developers, and production teams to ensure design consistency, quality, and timely delivery. The ideal candidate is highly creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about fashion, with strong technical and organizational skills to support a fast-paced design environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist senior designers in the creation and execution of seasonal collections, including mood boards, color palettes, and fabric selections.Conduct research on fashion trends, materials, colors, and silhouettes to support concept development.Prepare technical drawings, design specifications, and product illustrations using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.Support the development of tech packs and ensure accurate communication of product details to vendors and factories.Coordinate with suppliers and sample rooms to track materials, prototypes, and production samples.Participate in fittings, collect feedback, and ensure design and quality standards are met throughout development.Maintain and organize fabric swatches, trims, and sample archives for design reference.Update product information, line sheets, and collection overviews to support merchandising and production teams.Collaborate with cross-functional teams — including merchandising, sourcing, and marketing — to align product development with brand objectives.Assist in preparing presentation materials for design reviews, fashion shows, or client meetings.Monitor design timelines and follow up with vendors to ensure on-time sample delivery.Provide administrative and logistical support to the design department, ensuring smooth daily operations.Stay informed about new materials, technologies, and sustainability practices within the fashion industry.Contribute creative input to enhance product aesthetics and market appeal.QualificationsBachelor's degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.1–3 years of experience in fashion design, product development, or related areas (internships acceptable for entry-level).Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).Good understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and textile properties.Excellent eye for detail, color coordination, and visual presentation.Knowledge of trend analysis, fashion forecasting, and product lifecycle management.Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work across multiple departments.Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems or ERP tools is a plus.Passion for fashion design, innovation, and brand identity development.
