We are partnering with a Co. Galway client who are looking to hire a Principal Product Design Engineer to lead the end-to-end development of innovative electromechanical products from concept through to launch. This opportunity arises due to continued expansion and is a critical hire for the business.
Responsibilities
Own product requirements, specifications, and system architecture
Lead design control, risk management, and verification/validation activities
Manage external engineering partners and approve technical deliverables
Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver on programme milestones
Support innovation, platform development, and technical strategy
Requirements
Degree in Engineering or related field
10+ years’ experience in R&D/NPD (medical device or similar regulated industry preferred)
Strong knowledge of design controls, FMEA, and relevant standards (e.g. ISO 13485)
Experience with electromechanical systems advantageous
Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills
Able to operate in a fast-paced, global environment
