FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT - WESTPORT – HYBRID
This role offers the scope to shape core revenue controls within a growing international SaaS organisation. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will oversee end-to-end revenue recognition and accounting across European and US entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and commercial transparency. The company delivers advanced SaaS to a global client base and is entering a high-growth phase with strong investor and enterprise backing. This position will influence financial system design, support strategic projects, and strengthen governance across multi-entity operations.
This role is suitable for a qualified accountant, with 0-2 years PQE, coming from a practice background. Industry experience won't be considered.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Maintain and govern an accurate customer contract register with clear audit traceability.
2. Lead the review of complex client contracts to ensure precise and compliant revenue recognition.
3. Develop detailed revenue documentation supporting Irish/UK GAAP compliance and audit readiness.
4. Oversee billing and debtor management processes, safeguarding cash flow and client service integrity.
5. Perform and sign off on cash reconciliations across all bank accounts to validate completeness.
6. Deliver short- and long-term revenue cash flow forecasting to inform leadership decisions.
7. Manage deferred revenue schedules to align recognition with contract performance periods.
8. Partner with Finance leadership to strengthen internal controls and ensure accurate financial reporting.
9. Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales and Operations to streamline contract-to-cash processes.
10. Support system and process automation initiatives to improve efficiency and data accuracy.
11. Contribute to statutory reporting, taxation compliance, and key finance transformation projects.
12. Provide insight and analytical support for international expansion and commercial planning.
REQUIREMENTS
13. Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong technical grounding in Irish/UK GAAP.
14. Proven experience interpreting complex commercial contracts and applying revenue recognition principles.
15. Expertise in financial controls, reconciliations, and audit preparation within a multi-entity structure.
16. Strong command of financial systems and Excel; ERP knowledge (Xero or similar) an advantage.
17. Analytical mindset with a structured approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
18. Confident in producing high-quality documentation and financial analyses under tight deadlines.
19. Able to communicate financial insight clearly to cross-functional and non-financial stakeholders.
20. Experience in technology-driven or SaaS environments desirable.
21. Knowledge of international accounting and tax considerations across European and US jurisdictions beneficial.
22. Demonstrated commitment to accuracy, accountability, and proactive governance across finance operations.
