Your new companyYour new company is a Belfast-based contractor specialising in a range of disciplines from demolition, site clearance and asbestos removal to waste and fleet management. With an operational history of over 20 years, the company has been at the centre of ground-breaking reconstruction on a range of major, high-profile projects across Ireland, from hospitality and education schemes to high-rise structures & major industrial facilities. Due to continuous market growth & recent contract awards, the company is now seeking a freelance Foreperson to help with the delivery of a demolition package in Belfast.Your new roleAs Site Foreperson, you will take the lead on a 6‑week demolition project in Belfast commencing next week. This role is ideal for someone who can step onto a live site and immediately bring structure, technical knowledge, and clear direction. You'll be responsible for managing day‑to‑day operations, coordinating subcontractors and trades, monitoring progress, and ensuring that all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications. Strong communication skills are essential, as you'll act as the key point of contact with the principal contractor, site teams, project managers, and external stakeholders.What you'll need to succeedA background in civil engineering is preferred, as the project involves technical elements that require sound practical understanding and the ability to interpret drawings, plans, and method statements with confidence. You'll also be expected to maintain accurate site records, oversee quality checks, and uphold strict health and safety standards throughout the duration of the scheme. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organised, and capable of making clear and concise decisions, ensuring that the programme stays on track. In order to be considered for this role, you must have proven experience as the site lead on key building, demolition or civils schemes. You must hold a valid CSR (Site Supervisor), CSCS or SMSTS certification and be available to commence the project from Monday 9th February.What you'll get in returnOn offer to the successful applicant is a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to work on a key project in Belfast, with no UK/IE travel required.
