Background
Our client is a well-established civil engineering contractor with a strong presence in the water and wastewater sector across Ireland. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects throughout the Midlands region.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from pre-construction through to commissioning and operational handover, ensuring contracts are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all aspects of build-only and design-and-build contracts within the water and wastewater sector
Oversee project delivery from pre-construction, design coordination, construction, commissioning, and handover
Manage multidisciplinary project teams including engineers, site staff, subcontractors, consultants, and support personnel
Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements
Coordinate and manage internal and external design teams across civil, mechanical, electrical, process, ICA, BIM, and health & safety disciplines
Develop and maintain detailed project programmes, resource plans, and delivery schedules
Monitor project performance and proactively manage risks, costs, programme challenges, and scope changes
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, consultants, and regulatory bodies
Ensure compliance with company and client quality, environmental, and health & safety standards
Prepare and present project progress reports, forecasts, and performance updates to senior management and clients
Support senior leadership in achieving business objectives and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction
Drive project profitability, risk management, quality control, and successful contract outcomes
Foster a positive team culture and support the development of project and site personnel
Key Skills Required
Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline
8+ years' experience within the water and wastewater sector, including project delivery, design coordination, and site management
Strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes, networks, and infrastructure projects
Proven experience managing multiple civil engineering or infrastructure contracts simultaneously
Excellent knowledge of construction contracts, project controls, and contract administration
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets and project financial performance
Chartered Engineer status desirable but not essential
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Full clean Irish/EU Driving Licence
Must be authorised to work in Ireland with a valid work permit or Stamp 4 visa where applicable
