The systems accountant, reporting to the Finance Manager, manages the role of the ERP and accounting systems in financial control and reporting within the on-demand division. They serve as a commercially and control-focused partner to the business, supporting day-to-day operations. The core objective is to maximize the role of systems and implement best-in-class financial control and reporting to enable business growth while ensuring internal controls are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ongoing review and assessment of controls, working with the process improvement team to implement or enhance internal controls, ensuring alignment with business growth.
* Map processes and document financial flows across multiple entities and systems (ERP, WMS, CRM), identify synergies, opportunities for standardization, process improvements, and develop implementation plans.
* Lead finance aspects of transformational ERP implementation projects, including providing input, data reconciliation, data migration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
* Ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations meet audit standards.
* Prepare monthly financial and management accounts in line with group reporting deadlines, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
* Upload financial data to the group consolidation tool, currently BPC.
* Oversee working capital and operating cash flow in collaboration with Commercial Management and Group treasury.
* Participate in regular team and group meetings.
* Support the finance and commercial functions of the Uniphar Group as required.
Key Skills & Experiences:
* Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CPA) with experience across multi-disciplinary teams, including non-financial managers.
* Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
* Self-motivated with ambitions for high achievement within the organization.
* Experience in mapping and developing financial controls, leveraging ERP systems to achieve objectives, and implementing process improvements.
* Excellent time management, prioritization, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
* Proven ability to deliver high-quality customer support.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Influence cross-functionally without authority.
* High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with knowledge of multiple ERP systems and statistical analysis.
* Visio experience is a plus.
