Maynooth University is a dynamic public university with approximately 16,000 students. It offers a Counselling Service within its Student Services Team, which operates under the Office for Students and Learning.
We are seeking to recruit two professionally qualified and experienced Counsellors: one for a full-time permanent position and one for a full-time, specified purpose contract of approximately 9 months. Reporting to the Head of the Counselling Service, the successful candidates will work as part of a professional team to deliver a fast-paced, demand-led counselling service. Responsibilities include providing comprehensive, confidential counselling to a diverse student body on behalf of Maynooth University and Saint Patrick’s Pontifical University.
In addition, candidates will carry a full counselling caseload and participate in expanding preventative and developmental programmes as identified by the Service. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work well in a team environment, use their initiative, and have excellent attention to detail. Understanding and empathy with the mission and ethos of Student Services are essential.
Salary
Administrative Officer I (2025): €58,634 – €83,657 per annum (9 points). Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
