The Engineering Package Lead is responsible for the coordination, integration, and delivery of assigned engineering packages within a project. This role provides technical leadership, ensures alignment with project objectives, and serves as the primary point of contact for all matters related to the package. The Engineering Package Lead works closely with cross‑functional teams, vendors, and clients to ensure quality, schedule, and budget targets are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the engineering development, integration, and delivery of assigned packages from concept through detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
Prepare and maintain package engineering documentation (design basis, specifications, data sheets, drawings, calculations, etc.).
Act as the primary technical point of contact between internal stakeholders, vendors, contractors, and clients for all package‑related matters.
Coordinate interface management between engineering disciplines, procurement, construction, and commissioning for the package.
Ensure package designs comply with all relevant codes, standards, regulations, and client requirements.
Monitor and control package scope, schedule, quality, and budget; proactively manage changes and risks.
Review and provide input to procurement documents, vendor data, and technical evaluations.
Oversee receipt and review of vendor deliverables; ensure integration into overall project documentation.
Support procurement, construction, and commissioning by providing technical expertise and resolving engineering issues as required.
Prepare and present technical reports, progress updates, and interface meetings as needed.
Support HSE initiatives and ensure safe design practices are followed throughout package delivery.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, etc.) or related field; advanced degree is an asset.
Minimum 7 years of relevant engineering experience in a project environment, with demonstrated responsibility for package delivery.
In‑depth understanding of relevant engineering codes, standards, and regulations.
Strong project management, coordination, and communication skills.
Experience with multidisciplinary engineering projects and interface management.
Proficient with engineering design tools and software relevant to the discipline.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage complex deliverables.
Professional Engineer (PE or equivalent) registration is an advantage.
