Job Title: Fire Prevention Officer To provide risk management advice for the protection of staff, public and patients for medical & health facilities in relation to Fire Safety while ensuring that the organisation's need to comply with legal and statutory obligations in relation to Fire Health & Safety Prevention is met.
About the Role:
As a Fire Prevention Officer, you will be responsible for assessing risk, developing fire prevention strategies, leading training, and ensuring compliance with regulations. You will conduct inspections, investigate incidents, conduct fire drills, and lead on safety standards across new and existing infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct regular inspections of buildings, fire equipment, and escape routes
* Develop and implement fire evacuation plans tailored to a variety of premises
* Deliver fire safety training and drills across locations
* Advise on equipment standards and fire prevention best practices
* Investigate accidents and produce professional reports
* Monitor external contractors' compliance with safety regulations
* Participate in safety and risk committees and contribute to planning and budgeting for fire safety works
* Maintain records, report on fire safety performance, and identify training needs
* Support the development of emergency plans and advise on government fire safety standards
Requirements:
* A Level 7 qualification (HETAC/NFQ) in Engineering, Fire Engineering, Architecture, Health & Safety, or a related field
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a Fire and Safety-related role
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
* A keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to safety
