Westmeath, seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Engineer.
This role is vital for maintaining, upgrading, and ensuring the reliability of the site's entire electrical infrastructure, control systems, and machinery.
This position requires technical depth in both power distribution and automation/control, making it ideal for a focused engineer looking for site-based ownership and project work.
Core Responsibilities The Electrical Engineer will manage and support all site electrical systems and projects.
System Maintenance & Reliability: Oversee the preventative and reactive maintenance of high and low-voltage electrical distribution systems, switchgear, and motor control centres (MCCs).
Automation & Control: Provide expertise in troubleshooting, programming, and optimising Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and SCADA systems.
Project Management: Lead and execute electrical capital projects, including the specification, procurement, installation, and commissioning of new plant equipment and control panels.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure all electrical installations and modifications adhere strictly to relevant national wiring rules, safety standards, and site procedures.
Manage electrical safety documentation.
Technical Support: Act as a key technical resource for the Maintenance Team, assisting with complex electrical fault-finding and training junior technicians.
Candidate Profile & CompensationEssential Criteria Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as an Electrical Engineer in a manufacturing, processing, or industrial environment.
Demonstrable experience with industrial power systems (e.g., 400V, switchgear, protection relays).
Strong practical knowledge of industrial automation (PLC programming/fault diagnosis ideally Siemens or Allen-Bradley).
Excellent organisational skills with a proven ability to manage simultaneous engineering projects.
Compensation Salary Range: €50,000 €60,000 per annum (Negotiable based on industrial experience and automation expertise).
