Role Overview
We are seeking a Student Support Specialist to join our team, supporting pupils with SEMH needs in a school located in Louth. This is a full-time position on a temp to perm basis.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with social emotional and mental health needs and can de-escalate behavior through trusting relationships. They must have recent/relevant experience working with children and young people, specifically those with SEND/SEMH, and a passion for education.
Main Responsibilities
* Promote inclusion and acceptance within the learning environment
* Support pupils consistently while responding to their individual needs
* Create a safe and inclusive learning space
* Develop trusting relationships with pupils to de-escalate challenging behavior
Key Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Recent experience working with children and young people with SEND/SEMH needs
* A strong ability to build trusting relationships and de-escalate challenging behavior
* A passion for education and supporting pupil wellbeing
* A flexible and patient approach to supporting diverse pupil needs
