Job Summary:
The Handyman is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance, repair, and installation tasks to ensure that buildings, equipment, and facilities are kept in good working condition. This role requires broad technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail to address general repair and upkeep needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
* Conduct inspections of premises and equipment to identify repair needs.
* Install, repair, and maintain fixtures such as doors, windows, shelves, cabinets, and flooring.
* Paint and patch walls, ceilings, and other surfaces as needed.
* Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently.
* Assemble furniture, equipment, or other items as required.
* Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
* Perform basic landscaping, cleaning, or exterior maintenance as needed.
* Follow all safety procedures and report hazards or unsafe conditions.
* Keep maintenance records and report completed work to management.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a handyman, maintenance worker, or in a similar role.
* Strong knowledge of general repair techniques and building systems.
* Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
* Proficient with hand and power tools.
* Good problem-solving and time-management skills.
* Physical stamina and the ability to lift moderate weights.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Valid driver's license may be required.
Work Environment:
* May work in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
* Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for urgent repairs.
