Position: Employment Project Resource Worker
Hours: 30 or 37.5 per week
Location: Cork
Contract Term: Until 31/12/2028
This role supports participants who are blind or vision impaired to achieve suitable employment, training, and/or education. The project is funded under the WorkAbility government initiative and focuses on removing barriers to employment and promoting equal opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Client Support
1. Support participants in gaining employment, training, or education.
2. Develop case management plans and monitor progress.
3. Deliver job readiness training and provide intensive job search support.
4. Work collaboratively with employers to ensure sustainable placements.
5. Take a person-centred approach to achieve participant goals.
Business Development
6. Promote the benefits of employing individuals who are vision impaired.
7. Identify and engage new employer partners.
8. Support awareness campaigns to increase employer participation.
9. Network with industry partners and organisations to expand opportunities.
Person Specification
10. Degree-level qualification in social studies, community work, health/social care, psychology, or related field.
11. Knowledge of national employment policy and rights promotion.
12. Experience working with service users to assess quality in services.
13. Strong communication, report writing, and facilitation skills.
14. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and preferably CRM systems.
15. Flexible, creative, resourceful, with strong problem-solving skills.
16. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
17. Willingness to travel and work flexible hours.
Special Conditions:
18. Garda vetting required.
19. Must have access to transport.
20. Eligible to work in Ireland and the EU.
