Job Title: Environment & Release Coordinator Role Purpose We are scaling our digital delivery capability and need a highly organised technologist to coordinate environment management and release activities across 5-6 agile teams effectively doing agile at some scale using characteristics from methodologies like the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Disciplined Agile Delivery (DAD), Large-Scale Scrum (LeSS), etc. The person will own the provisioning, governance and optimisation of development, test, pre-production and production environments, ensuring coordinated and organised transitioning between environments and transfer to production. Key Responsibilities Environment Strategy & Provisioning - Define and maintain the environment roadmap; work with DevOps/platform engineers to provision, right-size and decommission environments using infrastructure-as-code principles where possible or other progressive approaches. Release & Deployment Coordination - Own the release calendar; plan and execute releases into SIT, UAT, pre-prod and production, aligning with sprint and PI schedules. Dependency Management - Map and track cross-team technical dependencies; facilitate conversations to minimise contention and maximise flow. Change & Risk Governance - Play a leading role in the business readiness process including go/nogo meetings, ensure audit trails and approvals are in place, and proactively surface environment related risks. Monitoring & Reporting - Provide real-time visibility of environment health, capacity, and utilisation; publish dashboards and status reports for stakeholders. The organisation uses Solarwinds to support this. Continuous Improvement - Identify and drive improvements to release processes, automation, and tooling (CI/CD, observability, security). Stakeholder Leadership - Act as the single point of contact for Product Owners, Project Managers, Scrum Masters, Test Manager, UAT Coordinator and external vendors on environment and release matters. Required Skills & Experience What We're Looking For 5+ years in software development, systems analysis or DevOps with hands-on technology background. Proven track record coordinating multiple agile teams in a scaled agile environment ( SAFe, DAD, LeSS, Nexus, etc.) Solid understanding of SDLC, CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git) and modern deployment practices. Practical experience with environment provisioning tools (Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, Jenkins or similar) Strong ability to visualise and manage technical dependencies, risks and resource constraints.
