We are seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead and oversee operational functions across a growing technical services organisation. The role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality services in an efficient, compliant, and commercially effective manner while supporting broader business growth objectives.

They work with major multinational organisations across highly regulated industries and are recognised for delivering high standards of operational excellence and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage day-to-day operational activities across the business
Ensure service delivery consistently meets agreed KPIs, SLAs, and customer expectations
Drive operational planning, workforce coordination, scheduling, and process optimisation
Maintain strong communication between field teams, leadership, and key stakeholders
Manage operational budgets, forecasting, labour costs, subcontractor spend, and overheads
Support commercial and bid teams with operational input on tenders, pricing, and delivery strategy
Ensure strong operational governance, including timely project close-out and accurate billing
Maintain compliance with industry regulations, health & safety standards, customer requirements, and internal policies
Oversee quality assurance processes, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively
Act as a senior operational contact for strategic customer accounts
Present operational performance reviews and improvement plans to senior leadership and clients
Manage escalations and ensure proactive communication around service delivery
Build and maintain strong customer relationships through operational reliability and service excellence
Lead, mentor, and develop operational managers and team leaders
Drive a culture focused on accountability, safety, performance, and continuous improvement
Support workforce planning, recruitment, training, and performance management activities
Requirements
Degree-qualified or equivalent professional experience
Proven experience in a senior operations leadership role
Track record of delivering complex projects across multiple regions or countries
Strong understanding of contract management, procurement, compliance, and operational governanceExperience managing budgets, forecasting, and commercial reporting
Demonstrated leadership capability across geographically dispersed teams
Strong stakeholder and client relationship management skills
Excellent communication and presentation abilities
Commercially minded with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Highly organised and capable of operating effectively in fast-paced environments
Willingness to travel internationally as required
Full driving licence and eligibility to work across Europe
