Senior Occupational Therapist Palliative Care

· Based in Harold's Cross in Palliative Care
The Senior Occupational Therapist will work in conjunction with the Occupational Therapist Manager in ensuring the coordination, development and delivery of a quality, client-centred Occupational Therapy Service to meet the needs of the service user group and the objectives of the organisation. The Senior Occupational Therapist will be responsible for the provision of a high standard Occupational Therapy service in a designated area * and will carry out clinical and educational duties as assigned by the Occupational Therapist Manager. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
*Designated area refers to the Occupational Therapy Departments in any of the following areas; the inpatient unit, outpatient service or Community Palliative Care Team in Harold's Cross, Wicklow or Blackrock.
Essential Requirements
· Be registered on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU or satisfy the conditions set out in Section 91.
· 3 years post qualification clinical experience with 1-year experience working in palliative care
Desirable Requirements
· Membership of the Association of Occupational Therapists of Ireland (AOTI) and /or equivalent Occupational Therapy professional body
· Membership of a relevant AOTI Advisory Group
· Post graduate training / qualifications in Palliative Care
· Experience in the professional supervision of Staff Grade Occupational Therapists and/or Occupational Therapy Assistants
· Participation in regular standards setting, outcome measurement, clinical audit and research
