About the Role

The Mould Tooling Engineer will lead the development and sustenance of optimal moulding processes for the manufacturing of regulated components. They will provide technical support for introducing new moulding equipment and processes to site, as well as technical assistance for processing issues or changes on existing moulding processes.

Key Responsibilities:
">
">
* Moulding/Tooling Lead for New Product Introduction, with Project Management responsibilities depending on project scope and complexity.
">
* Project manage key activities related to new moulding machines/mould tools and auxiliary equipment in conjunction with Project Leads.
">
* Initiate Equipment and Mould User Requirement Specifications, vendor selection, requests for quotation, and equipment/mould build management.
">
* Participate in design reviews and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) of new moulding equipment and tooling with Project Leads.
">
* Prepare accurate records/documentation of assigned project activities according to Quality System and Validation Guidelines.
">
* Sustain technology improvements that advance our moulding processes for new and existing products with Maintenance Group collaboration.
">
* Process optimization using latest moulding techniques/principles, such as Scientific Moulding.
">
* Troubleshoot moulding/manufacturing processes to mitigate production defects.
">
* Conduct feasibility trials/process Design of Experiments (DOE's) to determine appropriate/robust process windows.
">
* Ensure new processes are designed for manufacture, automated, innovative, cost-effective, and meet all Quality and EHS regulatory requirements.
">
* Manage and execute production equipment transfers into Cork, taking a hands-on lead role in activities required to achieve Commercialization.
">
* Support production, process optimization, scale-up production, and handover to production.
">
* Evaluate compliance with GMP and Safety requirements on new and existing equipment.
">

Requirements
">
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
">
">
* Bachelor's Degree in Polymer Engineering/Polymer Process Engineering or Mould Tooling related education.
">
* Advanced training in plastic injection moulding processing essential.
">
* 8+ years of hands-on engineering experience in high-volume Injection Moulding facility.
">
* Working knowledge of the following preferable:
">
">
o Medical Device experience.
">
o Validation processes (IQ/OQ/PQ).
">
o Robot programming, hot runner moulds, tooling issue diagnostics, moulding machine diagnostics, central material handling systems, and colour blending.
">
o Processing knowledge of a wide range of engineering grade resins.
">
o Able to read and interpret part and mould drawings.
">
o Up-to-date knowledge of injection moulding machine technology and capabilities.
">
o Minitab/Lean 6 Sigma techniques.
">
o AutoCAD.
">
">
* Ability to work with minimal supervision and/or guidance.
">
* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
">
* Leadership & Influencing Skills.

* Excellent engineering ability.

* Good stakeholder management skills across all levels.
