Electrical Field Engineer Role
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Field Engineer to join our team in Leixlip, Ireland. As an Electrical Field Engineer, you will be responsible for supervising and performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, modification, installation, and commissioning of electrical equipment in production facilities.
About the Job
The successful candidate will supervise and/or perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, modification, installation, and commissioning of electrical equipment in Global Operations production facilities. They will also provide technical support for the commissioning of new plant and equipment, review and verification of correct installation, function checking, and commissioning of new plant electrical equipment, calibration and acceptance of equipment from contractors, and ensure safety standards are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
* Respond to major electrical breakdowns, inspect, analyze faults, repair, and re-commission affected plant and equipment to minimize production loss.
* Support plants with maintenance according to the Plant Maintenance programme, including routine maintenance or major overhaul maintenance.
* Supervise contractors and/or staff, ensuring safe and effective work planning and implementation.
* Carry out plant modifications according to central design specification, submit self-generated design changes for approval, generate scope, cost, and obtain Expenditure Approval as needed.
* Provide advice and assistance to managers and their staff on maintenance matters.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Familiarity with electrical equipment in facilities served, including induction and synchronous motors, protective relays, switchgear, starters, control systems, transformers, generators, and distribution systems.
* Completion of a Formal Electrical Apprenticeship, Tertiary Vocational Qualification to minimum HNC (UK) or equivalent, supplemented by post-apprenticeship experience in electrical distribution, equipment protection, and controls.
* Ability to read electrical control drawings, communicate in English (spoken and written), and display technical proficiency in dealing with various electrical equipment.
